Our story
Founded on liquor and hospitality. Grown into property and commercial.
The practice was founded in 1989 as a specialist advisory to the New South Wales liquor and hospitality industry, and that origin still anchors the firm today. Liquor and gaming work remains the bedrock of the practice, and LAS is widely regarded as one of NSW's leading firms in the field.
From that base, the firm grew into a full-service commercial practice, covering residential and commercial property, commercial transactions, planning and development, leasing, finance, and dispute resolution. It acts for hoteliers and licensed-venue operators, developers and investors, and business owners and families, many of them clients of long standing. Conveyancing now extends across NSW, the ACT, Queensland, Victoria, South Australia and Western Australia.
Through every stage of that growth, one thing has not changed: clients deal directly with senior lawyers from first instructions, not associates working off templates. The firm is led today by directors Dion Manca and Justin Sammut.
